Description
The SUNY Purchase Performing Arts Center is at the center of the college’s public plaza. It is known for attracting talent from all over the world and hosting regional leaders and speakers. The center was built prior to The American’s with Disabilities Act of 1990. In 2019 the leadership at SUNY Purchase Facilities Planning is looking to improve access and navigation for those with disabilities.
Design Features
LFA has been tasked with stair and ramp improvements in the main lobby that improves functionality as well as complementing the existing architectural detailing. Guardrails will be added and the handrails will be modified at the main lobby to enhance navigation for disabled attendees and staff.
Sustainable Practices
This project will enhance the usability and extend the life of the existing facility. Renovations will address the needs of the diversity of the population that visits and works at the performing arts center.
