Description
SUNY Purchase’s Performing Art Center was built in the 1970s. The facility has multiple theatres and support facilities. The dressing room is located on the basement level of the complex. Proposed work is located in the basement of the Performing Arts Complex, SUNY Purchase. Scope of work includes removal of existing CMU walls and reconfiguration of existing restrooms to create 2 ADA accessible bathrooms, new shower, and a gender-neutral dressing room.

Design Features
The goal of the renovation is to serve disabled and transgender performers with accessible and non-gender specific bathrooms and a dressing room. New ceiling and wall finishes are scheduled to improve the appearance and functionality of the areas.

Sustainable Practices
The design minimizes demolition by maintaining existing fire resistive perimeter walls. The new HVAC system and lighting fixtures conform to current energy conservation standards and will be tied into the Building Management System.
